FEES & SERVICES: Overview

UNINSURED SERVICES

OHIP does not pay for all services that patients request from physicians. Services that OHIP does not pay for are called “uninsured services” or “third-party billing” and physicians are prohibited from billing OHIP for these services. Patients are responsible to pay these fees at the time of service.

  • If a service is rendered at an appointment, reception will manage your payment directly.

  • If a service is rendered without you present (ie. a missed appointment or a prescription renewal line request), you will receive an invoice by email or mail (if you have no email on file) and payment is due immediately.

  • If a time-heavy task (ie. insurance paperwork) is requested, you may be asked to approve & complete a pre-payment in advance of the service rendered.
